A children’s book as a symbol of a spiritual journey, a work that comes into being after a chance meeting with a violinist, a woman’s vision of using volcanoes to build more sustainably, a film that shows sexuality as a harmless topic of conversation in the family, and an extensive attempt to understand the past through a lonely father from the void of memory. These are the winners of the Nordic Council prizes for 2024.

Authors Niels Fredrik Dahl and Jakob Martin Strid, composer Rune Glerup, architect Arnhildur Pálmadóttir, film director Dag Johan Haugerud, and producers Yngve Sæther and Hege Hauff Hvattum can now all call themselves prize winners.
