Apply now: fourth round of the Nordic Media Grants Programme for Belarus is open!

The Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania has announced the launch of the fourth call for the Nordic Media Grants Programme for Belarus (2025–2026), designed to strengthen democracy and civil society by supporting independent media and media arts initiatives.

The programme aims to foster the creation of trustworthy content reflecting everyday life in Belarus, with a strong emphasis on reporting human rights issues such as freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, the rule of law, and democratic standards.

The ultimate goal is to empower Belarusian independent journalism and media art projects while ensuring access to high-quality, reliable, and diverse information for the Belarusian public.

Who can apply

Applications are open to:

  • Belarusian independent media outlets
  • Belarusian journalists
  • Belarusian creators of visual, artistic, or interdisciplinary media content
  • Non-Belarusian media outlets employing or contracting Belarusian journalists with a clear focus on Belarus

Key Details

  • Deadline: November 3, 2025, 23:59 (Vilnius time)
  • Funding: €5,000 – €30,000 per project
  • Project duration: up to 12 months
