The exhibition is aiming to provide space where the frightening reality of gendered violence can be voiced and made audible. Listening and understanding is the first step towards action and change! The exhibition will take place from 21.06.-21.07. at Studlendas in Klaipeda.
The Voices of Violence exhibition takes the shape of a labyrinth, where, in 35 short videos well-known Danish, Icelandic, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian and Belarusian actresses give a voice to the real anonymous stories on gendered violence. Among them are Lithuanian actresses Teklė Baroti, Elena Ozarinskaitė, Greta Dirmauskaitė, Renata Kutinaitė, Eglė Špokaitė. All stories have been gathered in close cooperation with women’s help centers in each country and are anonymous.
Voices of Violence is brought to Klaipeda with the help of Embassy of Denmark in Lithuania and the Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania in cooperation with Klaipeda University, Studlendas, and Specializuotos kompleksinės pagalbos centras.
