In 2025, seventeen high-quality projects were funded, including two important initiatives from Lithuania.
The total program budget is 8 million Danish kroner (DKK), with grants ranging from 300,000 to 500,000 DKK per project. Each project must include partners from at least three different countries, including one from the Nordic countries.
Focus on youth and strengthening the well-being of LGBTIQ children
One of the funded projects from Lithuania is “Future Resilience Champions: Empowering Youth for a Resilient Tomorrow,” implemented by Junicorns Fund. This cross-border initiative focuses on developing youth resilience through social entrepreneurship. The project brings together young leaders from Lithuania, Ukraine, and Nordic countries to enhance their capacity to address global challenges – from economic instability to climate change.
The core activity is an intensive bootcamp in Lithuania, where participants explore topics such as community well-being, digital security, and climate sustainability, develop startup ideas, and receive mentorship after the event. The initiative aims to empower at least 70 young entrepreneurs and strengthen regional collaboration and competitiveness. This is not only an educational project but also a platform for young innovators to become change-makers in their countries.
Another Lithuania-coordinated initiative is “Connecting families, educators and policymakers to combat violence and improve the well-being of LGBTIQ children in the Nordic-Baltic region and Ukraine,” led by the National LGBT Rights Organization LGL. This project focuses on ensuring the safety and well-being of LGBTIQ children and supporting rainbow families.
Through research, advocacy, and events, the project seeks to reduce violence, discrimination, and exclusion, while fostering understanding among policymakers and the education sector. Research findings will be presented at international conferences, including during the Baltic Pride festival, where a conference and photo exhibition will promote positive representation. The project aims to encourage inclusive policies and societal acceptance through regional cooperation.
