Open call for research projects in the Future Working Life Research Programme

2022 03 29

The Lithuanian Research Council and NordForsk invite Lithuanian scientists to apply and participate in Future Working Life research programme together with colleagues from the Nordic countries. The overall aim of the call is to generate knowledge and solutions for a sustainable and inclusive future working life in a Nordic and/or Nordic-Lithuanian context.

The funding parties have identified three crucial and inter-linked areas that would particularly benefit from Nordic and Nordic-Lithuanian research collaboration and that the Future Working Life research programme will prioritise: sustainable labour force participation, work environment and wellbeing, and green transition of working life.

The participating countries and areas are Åland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and Lithuania. The research will be carried out by teams of researchers from at least three countries that have agreed to fund the research. It is these countries that should form the consortium when submitting an application.

The total budget of the call is 4.7 million EUR. with a total contribution of up to 300 000 EUR. from the Lithuanian Research Council: up to 150 000 EUR. for the coordinator and 100 000 EUR. for the partner. Duration of research projects – 36-48 months. More information about the project can be found here.

NordForsk is an organization under the Nordic Council of Ministers that provides funding for and facilitates Nordic cooperation on research and research infrastructure. Outside of the Nordic countries NordForsk is expanding its activities by cooperating with institutions that are financing research in the Baltic states.

This is not the first time the Research Council of Lithuania and NordForsk have been part of a project. In the past the Research Council of Lithuania has also financed Lithuanian participation in NordForsk research related to innovations in green growth and health and wellbeing sectors.  Lithuanian scientists are also still welcome to take part in Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Change research. More information about this can be found here.

Applications are open on the NordForsk application system until 1 pm. on 21 June 2022 (Central European Summer Time (UTC+2)).
