Seven new research projects to strengthen resilience in the Nordic and Baltic regions

Hybrid threats are on the rise – from biological risks to digital manipulation and online misinformation targeting young people. To meet these challenges, NordForsk has awarded funding to seven new research projects to strengthen societal security across the Nordic and Baltic regions.

Most recently, there was a Call for Proposals on Antagonistic Threats Challenging Societal Security in the Nordic and Baltic countries, with a deadline of 12 June 2025.

Eighty-four projects applied for funding. Of all the applications, seven projects have been awarded funding totalling NOK 90.7 million.

Lithuania will actively participate in two projects co-funded by the Research Council of Lithuania:

Project partners: Norway, Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Lithuania

Project titleDigital twins to support civil risk awareness and societal preparedness
Project leader: Andrei Lobov, Norwegian University of Science and Technology
Project partners: Finland, Norway, Estonia and Lithuania
