Nordic Media Grants Programme for Belarus III

01.12.2023 - 30.04.2025

Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania in early 2024 announced third call for the Nordic Media Grants Programme for Belarus (2024-2025), which aims on strengthening democracy and civil society in the country through support of independent media and media arts.

As a result, 17 media projects were supported totaling 355,600 EUR. Grantees were Belarusian independent media outlets, journalists and media artists based in Belarus, and abroad. More than 150 applications were received for the call.

3rd call for 2024 is followed by the training program “Strengthening independent media: elevating content quality, project management and viability”  for independent Belarusian media, organized by Fojo Media Institute (Sweden) together with Nordic Journalist Centre (Denmark), Institute of Journalism in Norway and Belarusian partners, and funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania. This initiative provides capacity building trainings to selected representatives from independent Belarusian media. Trainings on modern journalism formats, solution-oriented journalism and planning and managing journalism projects are being carried out.
